Award-winning photographer, Marla McDonald is a visual storyteller who captures the essence, emotion and impact of a moment. Both a graduate of and former teacher at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography, she has mastered various photographic tools and techniques including black & white and slide film, alternative processes and digital photography.
With over a decade of experience, Marla creates exceptional lifestyle portraits of children, families, brides, couples, individuals, pets, events and experiences. Her photographs capture the essence of her subjects.
Marla's work has been recognized by National Geographic, Photographer’s Forum and Women in Photography International. Her work has been commissioned by individuals and organizations in both the United States and abroad, and her photographs have been seen in numerous publications including Texas Monthly, D Magazine and The Dallas Observer. Marla also photographs foster children for The Heart Gallery of North Texas.
Marla credits her photographic eye to her grandfather, who won The Scottish Daily Record's amateur photography competition in 1935!
